Think. Draw. Win.

Enter now for the Helmut Rhode Award 2024!
Deadline for entries is 02 October 2024 (date of receipt).

Draw as part of your design process!
Draw, don’t copy!

Is hand sketching becoming less and less important among students due to CAD?
Are the limited dimensions of the screen perhaps even limiting the design process?

In order to promote drawing as a means of design, we have been offering the student Helmut Rhode Award for seven years now – as a tribute to the great passion of our office founder Helmut Rhode for pencil drawing his architecture.

The submitted drawings should be architectural concept developments with the character of tools for finding solutions. It is not about drawing, but about your design ideas. Whether rough, imperfect sketches or detailed, explanatory drawings – everything may be submitted. The only requirement is that the drawing must be part of the design process.

The prize is worth a total of 5,000 euros, divided into a first prize and three recognition prizes. Students of architecture (domestic and foreign) are cordially invited to participate. An expert jury will evaluate the works submitted by 02 October 2023.
